Primary I

Governor Wolf Elementary School

This section of my teaching experience was a part of my Professional Development School (PDS) program which required me to go into a classroom with a cooperating teacher one day a week. This part of my teaching experience took place in a fourth-grade classroom at Governor Wolf Elementary School in Bethlehem, PA. During this experience, I created and implemented reading, math, and art lessons based on school curriculum, developed strategies to effectively involve family and community in students’ educational process, and designed a plan for managing a classroom of diverse learners.

Below, you will see artifacts created during my Primary I experience along with a brief description!

This artifact is a social studies lesson I created that integrated arts. Students were to create a poster of what recycling meant to them. They were also told to draw three things that can be recycled

This artifact is a case study assessment that assesses the student in reading fluency, reading accuracy, sight word recognition, writing, and reading comprehension. This is a part of a reading case study project.

This artifact is a lesson plan I created that focuses on student's reading using an interactive read aloud approach. I used reading activities such as "I Wonder, I Found Out" charts and story maps. Students engaged in the story while reading through it at the same time.
